MAP ArtNette Robinson

Nette Robinson graduated from University College Chichester in 2002 with a degree in fine art with music. Nette specialises in drawing and painting using media ranging from acrylic and watercolour to coloured pencils, graphite, ink pens and biros. Her favoured subjects are portraiture and architecture.

Nette has been exhibiting work for the past 8 years in group shows as well as solo exhibitions. Since she was at school, Nette has taken commissions for works; most recently an album cover for the vinyl record label Gearbox Records, which was part of her solo exhibition at the Barbican.

Nette currently has recently had work exhibited in the Stables Gallery, Twickenham as part of the exposition Echoes of Other Worlds. During February 2011 Sunbury Embroidery Gallery will be displaying new work from Nette based on the architecture of her home town, Sunbury entitled New Perspectives.

Jazz Legends

This exhibition comprises of a selection of Nette Robinson’s portraits of jazz artists. The works are all acrylic on canvas and each painting is unique. The images were created from a mixture of resources including photographs, video stills and imagination. As part of the process of creating the images, whilst painting each musician, she immerses herself in his or her music.
